Air traffic management
Offering an established range of services, Selex ES helps ensure the safe, fast and efficient flow of air traffic, the security of people and goods and the effective exchange of information between operators, to a customer base spanning over 150 countries.
Selex ES provides a wide range of systems and scalable solutions for air traffic management, from en-route and approach air traffic control centres to simulation and training centres, and from primary and Mode-S secondary radar and weather radar to ADS-B ground stations to wide area multilateration systems.
SATCAS (standard air traffic control automation system) is the latest generation of Selex ES ATM systems, which integrates a wide range of products and tools to comply with heterogeneous operational requirements and air traffic management environments, ranging from large, nation-wide, en route area control centres to small approach control units.
Air traffic control communications
For over 30 years, Selex ES has been a leader in the supply of turn-key systems for voice and data communications between the pilot and controller to ensure effective air traffic control.
Selex ES’s range of capabilities in ground systems for air traffic control encompasses the design, manufacturing and marketing of a wide range of equipment and integrated systems to be installed on various ground control centres. The company offers products and systems to satisfy ground-to-air communications (both voice and data), surveillance and network management needs.
Selex ES’s third-generation radio base stations provide customers with a multi-mode communication system, able to communicate using various voice and data modes simultaneously. This allows increased operation effectiveness, in compliance with the standard established by the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO).
Selex ES provides secure and resilient communication solutions to support both airport ground logistics activities (maintenance services, baggage services, aircraft fuelling, ramp services, airport movements) and airport ground emergency and security activities (fire brigades, police and security operations).
Among others, the following features can be implemented through a multi-technology Selex ES ground communication network:
- Voice and data communication
- Real-time resource positioning (both vehicles and people)
- Groups co-ordination
- Support for mission-critical applications
The CSP-Perseus integration platform allows for new technology to operate alongside the existing networks, building a more effective solution and preserving the current infrastructure. The new TETRA network can be integrated with existing legacy infrastructure or with other technologies such as fixed or mobile telephony, WiFi or VoIP; broadband (LTE or WiMax etc.) introduction can follow the same evolutionary approach.
Airport security systems
Selex ES provides complex security solutions that assimilate data from video surveillance, access control, anti-intrusion devices and cyber security to provide a comprehensive operational picture.
- Access control
- Video surveillance and perimeter protection
- Licence plate recognition
- Cyber security
