Our line of airport tools offer airport operators, and partners who share common objectives, the collaborative decision making solutions they need to reduce delays, improve punctuality of events and optimise the use of airport resources.
Offering integrated air traffic management, NAVCANatm works to custom-fit its system to each individual operation, configuring hardware, customising software and developing new interfaces that are adapted to operational business processes.
Customers can rely on NAVCANatm’s experienced system-integration capabilities, as well as work jointly with its team of engineers, integrators, technical support and training personnel.
NAVCANatm is a division of NAV CANADA
NAV CANADA is the company that owns and operates Canada’s civil air navigation system, and we rely on NAVCANatm technology to provide air navigation services for more than 11 million aircraft movements a year.
NAV CANADA also manages some of the world’s busiest airspace and some of its most remote, from the North Atlantic route linking North America and Europe, to the over-the-pole route to Asia, as well as busy international airports across Canada.
To deal with these challenging environments and maintain safe, efficient operations, NAV CANADA engineers and air traffic controllers developed the ATM technology solutions needed.
NAVCANatm technology solutions provide fast, reliable access to critical airport, tower and terminal air traffic control information, allowing the integration, manipulation and distribution of data across a system. The company’s advanced integrated tower suites combine flight, surveillance and operational data to increase safety and enhance efficiency.
NAVCANsuite – integrated ATC information
The NAVCANsuite family of tower-automation products provides fast and reliable access to critical airport, tower and terminal air traffic control information. It is designed to innovate and simplify air traffic control workstations. Both standalone and integrated solutions are available.
The NAVCANsuite features an integrated controller working position with up to four touch-screen monitors that provide NAVCANatm technology, including NAVCANstrips, NAVCANatis, NAVCANinfo, NAVCANsitu and NAVCANlink.
These products support a full range of tower services, including en route, terminal and ground radar, airfield lighting, clearance delivery and air traffic flow arrival and departure management.
The integrated solution has been developed and continuously proven in operational installations for more than a decade. By separating the software from the hardware, NAVCANatm can advance capability incrementally as new technologies become available, while applying lessons learned from operational experience.
NAVCANlink – airport radar and status real-time view
NAVCANlink supports collaborative decision-making by providing non-operational users, such as terminal operations staff and air carrier operations managers, with a near-real-time view of an airport’s radar and status.
Fully integrated with other NAVCANsuite applications, NAVCANlink is proven and secure. The second-generation web viewer, which displays read-only copy of operational databases, is based on an established in-service system.
To ensure sensitive information is transmitted only to those users authorised to see it, the system can be configured so that different aviation partners have access only to pages customised for their use. To support today’s on-the-go workforce, a mobile version ofAVCANlink is available for tablets and smartphones.
Safety and quality air traffic management
NAVCANatm supports each system developed and installed using proven safety and quality management processes, tailored to the system safety levels and regulatory requirements specific to each facility. Testing occurs at the system, site and operational levels. Acceptance is based on system specifications, site integration requirements and operational use.
All NAVCANatm technology solutions were developed for airport navigation system (ANS) operations and are in use today. NAVCANatm ensures that each system is reliable, well maintained and always available by providing redundancy and 24/7 support, as well as installing software updates and adaptations rapidly and efficiently.
Collaborative tailor-made air traffic technology
Whether you need a full suite of products or one of its components, all NAVCANatm solutions are built to your requirements, using a tested collaborative process that tailors the technology to specific environments. Each system is flexible and can be scaled to meet the demands of your operation now and as it grows. Following deployment, NAVCANatm supports your system with comprehensive lifecycle maintenance, support and training to ensure optimum performance.
Professional air traffic control training
How well people use technology is the measure of its success; NAVCANatm make in-depth, professional training a cornerstone of its service. Training programmes for air traffic control and technical support personnel are based on the proven, cost-effective programmes NAVCAnatm has developed for its staff, as well as employees of other ANS providers.
NAVCANatm’s experienced trainers will work with your team to develop and deliver programmes at your own site or theirs. A train-the-trainer approach, tailored specifically to your system, focuses on making the people who use the technology comfortable with it and eventually experts in its use.
NAVCANmet products include meteorological systems used at manned and unmanned airports. The systems are seamlessly integrated and operate on a common architecture.
When it comes to providing flight services, professional and knowledgeable customer care goes hand-in-hand with reliable and up-to-date flight planning technology. The NAVCANplan suite of flight service products is just that - technology that pilots, dispatchers and operational specialists can depend on every day to help ensure flight safety.
The NAVCANsuite family of tower-automation products provides fast and reliable access to critical airport, tower and terminal air traffic control information. It is designed to innovate and simplify the air traffic controllers' workstation. Both standalone and integrated solutions are available.
NAVCANtrac sets new standards for air traffic management safety, capacity, and efficiency. With enhanced processing capabilities, this complete air traffic management and support system automates and integrates flight data between multiple air traffic control facilities, surveillance sources, and external systems.
