As air travel continues to become more accessible airports need to quickly adapt to provide for a changing and more diverse passenger profile.

Correct selection of furniture is essential in providing a more relaxed and enjoyable experience. As the market leaders in terminal seating systems, OMK is continually looking to identify the future requirements for seating.

In a departure from beam seating, their in-house design team have developed a new concept seat designed for mixed-use areas such as IDLs and arrivals concourses.

Link is formed from a unique geometric shape, which can be combined to create numerous dynamic configurations. With a simple linking device, it can be easily removed and reattached allowing for easy reconfiguration if necessary. OMK selected moulded polyurethane as the base material, which carries a 25-year guarantee.

To compliment Link, OMK has released Hub, a working table with integrated power and USB charging, to offer a standard to alternative tables traditionally designed as FFE items. Available in a range of finishes, Hub can also be supplied with moulded polyurethane floor fixed stools.

“As specialists in terminal seating we understand more than most the hard use that furniture within airports has to withstand.” says Matt Osborne, managing director OMK. “Identifying a need for more innovate products that not only utilise correct materials but are cost-effective has lead us to expand our range with these exciting new additions.”

Link and Hub will be launched in March at Passenger Terminal Expo (PTE) 2019 London, UK, stand #3042, alongside OMK’s full range of award-winning terminal seating solutions Flite, Trax and Seville.
