Sepura plc has acquired Teltronic SAU, the Spanish Professional Mobile Radio (PMR) company.

The combined complementary product offering, market reach and geographical remit of the two organisations will enhance the Sepura group’s position as a leading global provider of critical communications solutions for the PMR market and help the new enlarged group to meet its core strategic objectives.

The acquisition aims to accelerate the group’s market diversification strategy and enhances its product offering, and technical breadth, whilst delivering financial enhancement to its shareholders.

In particular, the enlarged group will command an increased share in its existing vertical and geographical markets, and accelerate its entry into new markets. The combination of Sepura’s complete solution portfolio and Teltronic’s network infrastructure will also enable the group to achieve leadership in TETRA with a broader infrastructure offering.

Gordon Watling CEO for Sepura commented: "This is a highly complementary and transformational acquisition which will be immediately earnings-enhancing. It brings together two of the market’s fastest growing players to create a leading digital PMR company with a broader offering and significantly enhanced capabilities.

Teltronic’s business will diversify our geographical reach, growing our footprint in Latin America and strengthening our existing presence in North America, specifically the US; whist expanding and diversifying our revenue streams accordingly."

Gordon Watling concluded: "As the number and scale of digital radio networks around the world increases, we will have the breadth of portfolio and financial strength to compete for a significantly larger number of new contracts globally."
