NSAI announced today that Portec has received ISO 9001:2008 quality management certification. By achieving the ISO certification, Portec has demonstrated its commitment to a highly effective quality management system, providing continual quality improvement and focusing on providing value to its customers.

The ISO 9001:2008 standard is a set of quality practices that ensures the use of effective processes that are consistently monitored and improved. As the industry standard for quality management systems, ISO 9001:2008 certification requires evaluation by an independent, accredited auditing body.

“Obtaining the ISO9001:2008 certification demonstrates Portec’s sustained commitment to improvement throughout the entire organization,” said Mark Means, vice president of operations.

Portec was initially registered ISO 9001 in December 1995, and subsequently met requirements for ISO 9001:2000 in January 2008.
