Honda Aircraft Company sales senior division director Simon Roads

French air taxi service provider Wijet has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Japan’s Honda Aircraft Company to buy 16 HondaJets.

The new aircraft will be used to upgrade Wijet’s fleet, which currently includes 15 business jets.

The new order marks the largest deal received by Honda for its HondaJet aircraft. The company has not disclosed the value of the deal, but a HondaJet is valued at roughly $5m, reported Nikkei Asian Review.

The first aircraft of the latest order is expected to be delivered in the first quarter of this year.

Each aircraft will be equipped with various amenities such as Wi-Fi connectivity, and spacious and comfortable cabins.

HondaJet also features a range of technological innovations in aviation design, including over-the-wing engine mount (OTWEM) configuration, which is capable of improving performance and fuel-efficiency by reducing aerodynamic drag.
