Swiss AviationTraining has adapted CEFAsim simulator flight data visualisation tool on an Airbus A320 simulator in order to make flight training debriefings more efficient and effective.

With this move, SAT becomes the first flight training organisation in the world to provide such a technology and enables it to strengthen its position as a professional pilot training centre.

The combination of flight training and debriefing is necessary for an effective pilot training and CEFAsim offers a time and cost-efficient solution that meets customers’ expectations.

"Our CEFAsim flight data visualisation tool is helping substantially improve learning success and, at the same time, raising the efficiency of the training provided."

SAT Pilot Training head Roland Waser said that the two aims of increasing economic efficiency and improving flight safety were compatible.

"Our CEFAsim flight data visualisation tool is helping substantially improve learning success and, at the same time, raising the efficiency of the training provided," Waser said.

Developed by CEFA Aviation, CEFAsim software records all the flight parameters and actions taken on the flight deck during the simulator session, while enabling the instructor to bookmark a crucial situation, which can be retrieved quickly and easily during subsequent debriefing.

On completion of debriefing, all the collected data gets deleted immediately in order to ensure security.

By presenting visual, chart and audio sources on the same user interface, the tool allows analysis of any particular step in the simulator session to improve learning success; however, the data visualisation tool has no impact on the flight simulator itself.
