Private equity investment firm Behrman Capital has agreed to sell its portfolio company Data Device Corporation (DDC) to TransDigm Group Incorporated, a leading producer of commercial and military aircraft components, for $1bn.
Expected to be complete by the end of this year, the acquisition is a part of TransDigm’s strategic, operational and value-creation criteria and will be financed through cash, existing credit facility and new debt.
DDC is a global designer and manufacturer of data networking, power control and motion control solutions for aerospace, defence and industrial applications.
Latham & Watkins is the legal adviser to DDC for the transaction.
KBR, a global engineering, procurement and construction company serving the hydrocarbons industry, has agreed to acquire Wyle Laboratories, a scientific and technical services provider to US Department of Defense, Nasa and other federal agencies.
KBR will pay $570m, which will be funded by its existing credit facility and $200m in cash, to fully acquire Wyle’s business, including its outstanding shares.

American Express Global Business Travel (GBT) is to acquire SMT Oy, a business travel agency owned by Finnish airline Finnair.
Finnair has agreed to sell its business as a part of its ongoing disposal of non-core assets.
To be closed by the third quarter of this year, the transaction will allow GBT, a provider of credit payment card products and travel-related services, to improve its services.
