France-based Aerolia has awarded a contract to aircraft support services provider L-3 MAS to design, manufacture and deliver the overwing exit doors for the Bombardier Global 7000 and Global 8000 jet programme.
L-3 MAS will be responsible for the design, testing, certification and final assembly of the one-piece design doors, while the detail parts will be manufactured by L-3 Crestview Aerospace Florida, US.
L-3 MAS vice president and general manager Jacques Comtois said the contract was a milestone in the company’s strategy to diversify its existing markets and grow the aerostructures segment.
"Aerolia is a strategic customer, and we look forward to a mutually beneficial long-term relationship," Comtois said.
The overwing exit doors will be delivered to Aerolia, which will install them on the centre fuselage of each aircraft.
Aerolia was chosen by Bombardier to design and manufacture the central fuselage section of the new business jets.
