Boeing has delivered a new 787 aircraft to Belgian airline Jetairfly, making the carrier the first in Benelux to operate the Dreamliner.
Officially known as TUI Airlines Belgium, Jetairfly will operate its new 787 Dreamliner in short and medium-haul flights in early December and in long-distance routes between late December and early January.
TUI Belgium CEO Elie Bruyninckx said: "This aircraft isn’t only a perfect match with our innovative and sustainable philosophy. It is also a great asset in our strategy of offering unique holiday experiences to our passengers, especially when they fly between Europe and the Caribbean."
Jetairfly’s 787 will feature large, electronically-dimmable windows and large overhead luggage lockers, similar to other Dreamliners.
Boeing Commercial Airplanes European sales vice-president Todd Nelp said: "The 787 will replace the airline’s 767 and offer the best possible flying and cabin experience."
Boeing’s 787 is made with composite materials making up 50% of the primary structure, including the fuselage and wing, allowing the aircraft to use 20% less fuel and emit 20% fewer CO2 emissions than similarly sized jets.
