AVWest of Australia has placed a $292.5m order for five Bombardier Global 6000 ultra long-range jets equipped with the new Vision Flight Deck, which will be operated for long-haul business jet services.
AVWest principal, Tim Roberts, said: "The Global 6000 jet is today’s perfect solution to connecting key long-range city pairs non-stop."
"In addition, the Vision Flight Deck and the overall commonality with the forthcoming Global 7000 and Global 8000 aircraft make it the obvious choice for AVWest," Roberts added.
Powered by twin Rolls-Royce Deutschland BR710A2-20 turbofan engines, the 100ft-long Global 6000 business jet can accommodate eight to 19 passengers, in addition to a crew of two to four.
With a 94ft wingspan, Bombardier’s corporate aircraft has a range of 6,000nm, a maximum altitude of 51,000ft, a typical cruise altitude of about 41,000ft to 45,000ft and can cruise at a speed of 564mph.
The aircraft features four 15.1in liquid crystal displays, a head-up display, an enhanced vision system and synthetic vision system, an onboard maintenance system and a diagnostic and troubleshooting tool.
Additional features include datalink, Inmarsat or Iridium satellite communications, Ethernet-based cabin management, on-board local area network, and dual channel high-speed data printer, offering an integrated flight deck to ensure interoperability between systems.
Designed to provide a new cockpit experience, the Vision Flight Deck introduces the Rockwell Collins Pro Line Fusion avionics suite to ensure interoperability between systems while delivering control and comfort to the pilot.
