Low cost carrier Air Arabia has received its ninth A320 aircraft of the 44 ordered from Airbus in 2007, bringing its total existing fleet to 30 aircraft.
Air Arabia is expecting the delivery of six aircraft in 2012 and the delivery of the entire fleet of 44 A320s is expected to more than double Air Arabia’s existing fleet.
Air Arabia Group CEO, Adel Ali, said: "We are pleased to receive our ninth aircraft on-time and as per the fleet plan schedule we have set back in 2007."
Ali continued: "We look forward to the delivery of five more aircraft this year as we continue to unlock opportunities for the low-cost model in the MENA region and beyond."
Air Arabia served 4.7 million passengers in 2011, representing a rise of about 6% year-on-year, while its seat load factor or passengers carried as a percentage of available seats stood at 82% for 2011.

The single isle A320 features advanced navigation technology which comprises the required navigation performance (RNP) capability, which reduces approach distances for landing while delivering reduced fuel consumption and CO² emissions and the global position (GPS) landing system.
The jetliner incorporates fly-by-wire flight controls and its optimised fuselage improves passenger revenue with the widest cabin in the single-aisle marketplace, and increased cargo revenue due to the larger cargo holds and integrated on-board loading systems.
