Indonesia’s Sriwijaya Air is to purchase ten new Boeing 737-800 next-generation aircraft to serve new international and domestic routes.
Sriwijaya corporate communications manager Ruth Hanna Simatupang said the company would sign the order purchasing contract next week, and delivery of the ten aircraft would begin in 2012.

Each Boeing 737-800 aircraft, capable of carrying 162 passengers, will cost $81m, according to the Jakarta Post.
Sriwijaya Air currently operates 27 aircraft, including 13 Boeing 727-200s, eight Boeing 737-300s and six Boeing 737-400s.
