The W3B will provide increased capacity for expanding video platforms in Central Europe and Indian Ocean islands.

The satellite will also provide bandwidth and coverage for telecom operators and internet service providers in Africa to serve enterprise networks and GSM connectivity.

The satellite, expected to enter into service in December this year, will replace Eutelsat’s Eurobird16, W2M and SESAT 1 satellites which will subsequently be redeployed to alternative positions.
