The LEOP phase was followed by three weeks of in-orbit tests controlled by Thales.
Rascom-QAF1R will provide service continuity for its operator RascomStar-QAF providing international connections between African countries and connecting isolated villages via low-cost terminals.
Nilesat 201 will also enable the satellite operator Nilesat to continue providing direct-to-home (DTH) TV, radio broadcasting and high-speed data transmission services to the North Africa and the Middle East.
