International Launch Services (ILS) and SES have decided to extend the SES multilaunch agreement (MLA) to 31 December 2014 and add another ILS Proton mission.
The first SES launch under the MLA took place in April 2010 with the launch of SES-1 atop an ILS.

As part of the MLA, two of the four SES missions are scheduled for 2011 and 2012 for the launches of the SES-3, SES-4, QuetzSat-1 and SES-5 / ASTRA 4B satellites.
The remaining three MLA missions will be assigned as needed and cover the 2012-2014 timeframe.
Proton will also provide back-up launch capability for SES missions in 2011.
SES president and CEO Romain Bausch said that the MLA has allowed SES to support the continuous development and replacement of its global satellite fleet, providing the company with an additional competitive edge.
