Integral Systems has been awarded a new satellite ground station contract from British Sky Broadcasting (BSkyB) for its new broadcast facility, Harlequin 1.
Under the contract, Integral Systems Europe – UK (ISE UK) will provide 11 Earth station systems, with antennas of up to 7.3m.

The firm will also supply, transmit and receive RF subsystems and terrestrial transmissions receiver equipment for Harlequin 1.
BSkyB director of broadcast services Troy Smith said the upgrade and expansion of its ground systems infrastructure was a critical component in its effort to provide its customers with HD programming.
Integral Systems provides integrated satellite communications-interfaced systems, while BskyB operates the most comprehensive multichannel, multiplatform television service in the UK and Ireland.
