Airbus has delivered the first of 15 Airbus A380s ordered by Lufthansa, with three more to join the fleet later in 2010.
Lufthansa will deploy the new aircraft on routes to Tokyo, Japan; Beijing, China; and Johannesburg, South Africa.

Powered by Rolls-Royce Trent 900 engines, the double-deck A380 can fly up to 518 passengers to a range of 8,300nm.
Lufthansa is the fifth airline to introduce the A380 into service. The new aircraft was the 28th Airbus A380 to enter into passenger service.
