VRG Linhas Aereas’s new fleet of 65 737-800 aircraft are to be fitted with Honeywell’s full suite of safety avionics.
The suite includes an IntuVue weather radar, a traffic alert and collision avoidance system (TCAS), a quantum line communications and navigation system (CNS), a solid-state flight data recorder (FDR) and cockpit voice recorder (CVR), and an emergency locator transmitter.

The IntuVue weather radar is a fully automatic weather radar system that enables pilots to see and avoid turbulence sooner, and uses pulse compressions for greater accuracy at longer range.
TCAS warns the pilot about nearby aircraft and provides avoidance manoeuvres, enabling better flight safety through increased airspace situational awareness.
The contract is valued at $40m over the life of the contract including after-market support.
