A test rig, designed for the demonstrator programme, represents the outer wing to centre wing box and centre fuselage attachments with a simulated main landing gear leg, engine and pylon.

The key areas of the demonstrator will be put through a controlled loading test to simulate maximum loading conditions in service.

Data from the test will validate stress and design assumptions for the wing and allow optimisation of the design of the actual CSeries aircraft production wing.

Powered by PW1000G engines, the CSeries is a family of single-aisle aircraft, with seating for 100-149 passengers and a range of 1800nm to 2,950nm, which will come into service in 2013.
