The first Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft has completed the high-speed taxi tests, the last in a series of functional tests, and is now ready for the first flight.

Boeing 787 Dreamliner vice president and chief project engineer Mike Delaney said the company is going through and analysing the data to ensure they are ready for first flight.

A mid-sized, wide-body, twin-engine jet airliner, the 787 Dreamliner has a seating capacity between 290 and 330 passengers.

During the taxi test, the 787’s pilot lifted the nose gear from the pavement, and the airplane reached a top speed of nearly 130kt (150mph, 240km/h).
