Yemen’s national carrier, Yemenia Airlines has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Airbus to acquire ten A320 aircraft.
The A320 family of single-aisle aircraft can fly up 3,700nm at a speed of Mach 0.82.

The airliners will be configured for the airline in a comfortable two-class configuration with seating for 12 passengers in business class and 138 in economy.
Yemenia will deploy the aircraft to serve on regional, African, Indian and European routes to enhance and expand its services.
Yemenia board of directors member Saleh Alawaji said the carrier’s long-term strategy was to grow with an integrated fleet of super efficient and reliable aircraft.
“The A320 shares operational and maintenance commonality with our existing Airbus, and will bring added efficiencies,” Alawaji said.
