Airbus’ new long-haul freighter – the A330-200F – is undergoing the final assembly process for its maiden flight in November 2009.

In total, 65 orders have been placed from nine customers for the A330-200F – the first will be delivered to Etihad Airways in 2010 after certification from European and US authorities.

The aircraft now has its fuselage, wing and horizontal/vertical tail and the main and nose landing gear installed.

The freighter will be able to accommodate cargo containers and freight pallets on the main deck accessed through a 141 X 101in cargo door on the forward fuselage.

The craft will be able to carry 64t over a range of 4,000nm or 69t a distance of 3,200nm.

Once complete it will undergo four months of flight testing.
