Boeing subsidiary Insitu plans to reinvest its first $25m in contracts for a government order for small unmanned aerial vehicle (SUAV) services back to companies.
Insitu has been awarded $30m by the government for supporting Canadian Forces intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance operations in Afghanistan.

The Insitu contracts with Canadian business is a part of Boeing’s reinvestment plan for the Canadian economy under the industrial and regional benefits (IRB) policy maintained by Industry Canada.
A total $61m in opportunities will be created for the nation if the government takes up additional contract options with Boeing.
As a part of this programme, Boeing has already struck deals with companies such as ING Engineering for UAV field services and MKS for its software and consulting services for life-cycle management of the systems.
It has also signed contact with NovAtel for ScanEagle global positioning systems.
