Modelling and simulation firm CAE has won contracts to design and manufacture two new full-flight simulators (FFS) and provide proprietary CAE Simfinity training devices for Lufttransport AS and an undisclosed customer.

One of the two C$25m contracts includes a CAE 5000 series Beech King Air B200 FFS for Lufttransport, a Norwegian airline that provides air ambulance services.

The other order is for a CAE 5000 series A320 FFS and CAE Simfinity airbus pilot transition (APT) trainers.

The FFSs will provide the users with third-party training, including new multi-crew pilot licence training methodology.

The simulators are equipped with PC-based visuals, high-performance liquid crystal on silicon projectors, electric motion and composite components.

Lufttransport CEO Stig Naesh said that the acquisition represents a major step for the company.
