The 747-8 Intercontinental features include a new curved architecture, providing passengers with a greater feeling of space and comfort as well as extra room for personal belongings.

The airplane provides 16% better fuel economy, 16% lower carbon emissions per passenger and generates a 30% smaller noise footprint than the 747-400.

The new 747 airplane is the only plane in the 400 to 500-seat market and is suited for long, heavily travelled routes around the world.

Lufthansa, along with Korean Air and VIP customers, has placed orders for 33 747-8 Intercontinentals and the first delivery of the aircraft is scheduled for the final quarter of 2011.
