China has successfully completed the maiden flight of its first indigenously developed light amphibious aircraft, the HO300.
The HO300 is a multiuse amphibious aircraft, which has been developed by the General Aircraft of the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC).

The HO300 is 8.9m-long, 12.46m-wide sircraft, with a cruising speed of 231km/h. It can land on land and water, and can take off from plateaus at altitudes below 3,500m.
The aircraft, designed as a passenger plane, can carry four to six passengers, take off with loads of 1,680kg and has a maximum flight range of 1,300km.
The HO300 is expected to be used for business flights, general travelling, transporting, patrolling, searching and environmental monitoring, according to Xinhua News Agency.
