Australian airline Qantas has pulled its fleet of Airbus A380 airliners from service following an emergency landing at Singapore’s Changi Airport.
The flight experienced engine trouble shortly after taking off from Singapore, heading towards Sydney, Australia. A passenger told the BBC that one of the engines exploded and the plane started to shake.

Qantas chief executive Alan Joyce said that the aircraft experienced a “significant engine failure”, and debris from the engine was scattered over the Indonesian island of Batam.
“We’re not going to take any risks with passenger safety and, as a precaution, we’re suspending flights of the A380 aircraft until we’re comfortable that we understand the reasons for this,” Joyce added.
None of the 433 passengers or 26 crew on board were injured.
