Oman Air has signed a rate-per-flight-hour (RPFH) agreement with CFM International for the airline’s fleet of CFM56-7B engines to power 15 Boeing next-generation 737 aircraft.
Under the agreement, CFM guarantees maintenance cost on a dollar per engine flight hour basis for the airline’s entire fleet of 33 installed and spare CFM56-7B engines.
Oman Air chief technical officer Salim Al Kindy said that the comprehensive service and support package would allow them to keep their costs predictable.
In 2001, the airline became the first in the Gulf region to order CFM56-7B-powered Boeing next-generation 737 aircraft.
