The satellite, based on Lockheed’s A2100A platform, has a design life of 15 years.
The A2100 geosynchronous spacecraft series is designed for telecommunications needs, including Ka-band broadband and broadcast services, fixed satellite services in C-band and Ku-band, direct broadcast services and mobile satellite services.
The spacecraft will join the existing fleet of B-SATs, including BSAT-3a, BSAT-2a fBSAT-2c and BSAT-1b.
