Under the contract, Honeywell will provide the AMT-700 antenna and MCS-7120 system that facilitate access to Inmarsat’s SwiftBroadband satellite communications service.

With the AMT-700 and MCS-7120 systems, passengers will gain improved voice and data connectivity in the cabin and cockpit, and stay connected while travelling at 40,000ft.

Honeywell Aerospace business and general aviation global sales vice-president Mike Beazley said: "Honeywell has worked with Gulfstream to bring the latest technological developments to the company’s fleet for years.

"We are working together to ensure that everyone who steps onto a Gulfstream aircraft has the most advanced and comfortable experience possible."

G500 and G600 also feature Honeywell’s touchscreen technology and a suite of electrical products, including SmartView Synthetic Vision System and a cockpit display of traffic information, the HGT400(G) auxiliary power unit, environmental control system and cabin pressure control system.

Gulfstream completed its first flight of the G500 business jet earlier this week, with plans to put the aircraft into service in 2018.
