US-based Gores Small Capitalisation Partners has completed the acquisition of Triumph Group’s auxiliary power unit (APU) maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) business in the US, Triumph Air Repair and Triumph Engines, for an undisclosed sum.
To be rebranded as TurbineAero, the newly acquired business will be led by industry executive Rob Higby and provide maintenance solutions for the military, commercial, and regional airline customers’ existing and new APU engine models.

With two facilities in the US and Thailand, the company will further provide hot-section component manufacturing and repair services for original equipment manufacturers, aircraft operators, and repair and overhaul providers.

Announced last December, the recently completed deal also includes Triumph Group’s APU overhaul operations, Triumph Aviation Services, Asia.
