Textron’s subsidiary Bell Helicopter has completed delivery of eight Bell 412EP helicopters to the Philippine Department of National Defense (DND).

The company handed over the last rotorcraft at the Villamor Air Base, as part of an agreement with the Canadian Commercial Corporation (CCC) signed last April.

Under a government-to-government contracting solution, the helicopters were intended help DND to fulfil its modernisation programme.

Bell Helicopter Asia Pacific managing director Sameer Rehman said: "Bell Helicopter has played an important role in the Philippines’ national defence for six decades, and it is a profound privilege to continue this relationship and serve the DND for decades to come."

"We look forward to employing the versatility and improved performance of the Bell 412EP."

Fully configured and equipped with advanced features, the 412EP helicopters will be used for combat utility and VIP transport operations, as well as support relief efforts.

In June, Bell commenced its staged deliveries of the eight aircraft.
