Changi Airport Group (CAG) is set to carry out a feasibility study for establishing a hydrogen hub at Singapore Changi Airport (SIN), in partnership with industrial gas company Linde, aerospace firm
Airbus and the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS).
The collaboration was signed at the Singapore Airshow 2022.

According to the agreement, a two-year study will be undertaken to assess the infrastructure and supply solutions needed to facilitate hydrogen-driven aircraft and airport operations at Changi Airport.
The study will focus on hydrogen production, storage and distribution in aircraft ground services, operational equipment and refuelling systems.
CAG will also focus on the viability of hydrogen fuel cells in airport operations, as well as setting regulations and standards to enable hydrogen technologies to be adopted safely.
CAG Airport Development executive vice-president Yam Kum Weng said: “Sustainability is a key focus area for CAG as we strive towards making Changi Airport a sustainable air hub, with the longer-term aspiration towards net-zero carbon by 2050.

In another development at the Singapore Airshow 2022, Rolls-Royce, Safran, Singapore Airlines and Airbus signed the Global Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) Declaration to fast-track the development, production and consumption of SAF.
The SAF Declaration is open for airlines, aviation and aerospace organisations to complement their green objectives.
Singapore Airlines is said to have become the first airline to sign the declaration.
Earlier this week, CAG introduced an initiative to provide more assistance to passengers with invisible disabilities such as autism and dementia travelling through Changi Airport.
