Aerospace and defence company Airbus has inaugurated its new 51,000m² integrated campus at Seletar Aerospace Park in Singapore.
The campus is an expansion of the company’s current site, which is home to Airbus Asia Training Centre (AATC); and Airbus’ Asia-Pacific spare parts distribution facility, which is operated by Airbus subsidiary Satair.

The AATC is a joint venture between Airbus and Singapore Airlines that offers pilot type-rating and recurrent training courses across all in-production Airbus jetliner models.
The new campus features offices that serve as Airbus’ regional hub for its commercial aircraft, defence, space and helicopter businesses.
A second Satair warehouse has also increased storage volume and capacity by more than 70%.
Airbus chief commercial officer, International head and Airbus Executive Committee member Christian Scherer and Singapore Trade and Industry Minister Chan Chun Sing were present for the opening.

By GlobalDataSpeaking at the event, Scherer said: “The new campus in Singapore reflects our ongoing commitment to our presence in key regions.
“From Singapore, we can connect more easily with customers and other stakeholders across Asia and the Pacific, acting swiftly to meet their needs.
“This is especially important during these challenging times.”
The Singapore facility will complement the Beijing centre and provide courses to Airbus office employees across the region.
In a separate development, Airbus’ Copernicus Sentinel-6 Michael Freilich ocean satellite has commenced its ‘Seeing-the-Seas’ mission.
The satellite was launched from Space Launch Complex 4E at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California, US.
Earlier this month, the European Space Agency (ESA) contracted Airbus as the lead for the Traceable Radiometry Underpinning Terrestrial and Helio Studies (TRUTHS) A/B1 contract.
