Custom-Built Airport Terminal Project Case Study

Kenyatta International Airport, Nairobi, East Africa's largest transport hub, experienced devastation back in August 2013 when a fire broke out in the main airport terminal building.

The extent of this resulted in complete destruction of the arrival and departure terminals and the need to re-build immediately was imperative to ensure disruption was minimalised for domestic and international travellers.

Due to the lengthy time constraints in designing and rebuilding a traditional steel and concrete airport building, the decision was made to house the terminals in a semi-permanent temporary facility.
