Jason Watson, who has been with TCR for ten years, will take up the role of Group CEO from July 2025. Tom Bellekens will transition to the role of Executive Chairman. This is the result of a well-planned succession planning aimed at supporting the Group’s continuous high growth.
From pioneer to global leader
Tom joined TCR in 2002, after several years at Bain. Over two decades, he has held key roles across the business, becoming Group CEO in 2018. Tom has guided the company through significant change. Under his leadership, TCR successfully navigated the Covid-19 crisis and transformed from a European player into a global leader in GSE Services and Airport Solutions, nearly tripling its size.
As Executive Chairman, Tom will remain closely involved in the company’s strategic direction. His focus will include further geographic expansion, senior client relationships, innovation, and investor engagement.
“I am delighted to take on my new role. This is the result of two years of preparation to ensure that Jason and the entire senior team are in place to step in, with my continued support moving forward. The company has been on a fantastic growth journey, but there is so much more potential, and we are more ambitious and confident than ever. Our primary focus will always remain on delivering on our promises to our customers. The fact that we have grown consistently with 90% of our largest accounts over the last four years can be seen as the result of our heavy investment in our long-term customer partnerships. As Exec Chair, I will ensure that this customer centricity remains high on our agenda, alongside innovation as we continue to strive to set tomorrow’s standards in our industry” says Tom Bellekens
Leading TCR into its next phase of global growth and innovation
Jason brings over 20 years of international leadership experience in transport and logistics. He has held senior roles at TCR across APAC, the Middle East and North America. In 2024, he became Deputy CEO, and he worked closely with Tom and the EXCOM to define and execute the company’s strategy and reinforce its operational foundations.
As CEO, Jason will spearhead TCR’s mission to continue its growth as the global leader in GSE services and Airport Solutions. With operations in over 20 markets and a presence at more than 230 airports, TCR is uniquely positioned to redefine the future of aviation support, driven by electrification, infrastructure pooling, and advanced lifecycle management.
“TCR is built on a foundation of operational excellence, deep customer trust, and relentless innovation,” said Jason. “We are not just supporting the aviation industry, we are contributing to shaping its future. With a world-class team, a pioneering service model, and a clear vision, we are investing boldly in our people, our digital capabilities, and our global infrastructure. I am honoured to lead TCR into its next phase, deepening strategic partnerships, accelerating sustainable transformation, and setting the global benchmark for ground support excellence.” says Jason Watson.
Under Jason’s leadership, TCR will continue to push boundaries, delivering unmatched value, insight, and sustainability to airports, airlines, and ground handlers worldwide.
Update on TCR
TCR is the world’s most trusted GSE Services provider. With a fleet of 45,000 assets spread over 230 airports worldwide, TCR serves the majority of the ground handlers and airlines.
Over the past 2 years, TCR has been further developing its Airport Solutions, including Pooling, APU ZERO and Charge as a Service. A separate division has been created to tailor these solutions, headed by Divisional CEO Kristof Philips.
TCR is the facilitator of ramp greenification, bringing together airports, airlines and ground handlers. These solutions are mostly tailored around resource optimisation and (charging) infrastructure acceleration.
