Firstco Wins SCADA Framework with Heathrow Airport

Firstco is delighted to announce, that following a six month tender process, they have been appointed as a SCADA framework supplier to Heathrow Airport. The framework will cover project works associated with the site-wide monitoring and control PLC and SCADA system network.

Firstco was one of a large number of companies who responded to the open competitive tender in December 2010. Firstco were able to demonstrate a track record of delivering complex SCADA / PLC systems into critical environments. This coupled with their robust design and project management procedures led to the award in July of one of two six-year frameworks to Firstco.

Bill Martin, managing director at Firstco said: "We’re delighted to have the opportunity to develop our extensive SCADA portfolio and this award marks our goal of providing long term expertise on control and communications systems to BAA at Heathrow. BAA complemented us on the high-quality of our submission and it is extremely rewarding to know that the expertise, quality and rigorous processes we pride ourselves on here at Firstco has been recognised."

"We are confident going forward that the award of the framework will strengthen our presence in the SCADA market."
