The airframe manufacturer is currently trying to ramp up production on the behind-schedule 787 programme to seven aircraft a month from the current two.
Boeing is facing problems as its major Dreamliner suppliers are situated at various locations across the globe.
The delay will not, however, affect work on the four aircraft currently on the final assembly line, and the first aircraft will be delivered on schedule by the end of the year.
