Boeing has unveiled the Phantom Eye, a new hydrogen-powered unmanned airborne system.
The demonstrator aircraft is capable of staying in the air at an altitude of 65,000ft for up to four days.

Boeing Phantom Works president Darryl Davis said the Phantom Eye was the first of its kind, and could open up a whole new market in collecting data and communications.
Boeing Phantom Eye programme manager Drew Mallow said the hydrogen propulsion system was the key to Phantom Eye’s success.
“It is very efficient and offers great fuel economy, and its only by-product is water, so it’s also a green aircraft,” he said.
With a 150ft wingspan, the Phantom Eye will cruise at 150kt and carry up to a 450lb payload.
