GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS) has ordered 60 additional A320 family aircraft from Airbus at the Farnborough Air Show in the UK.

The new order brings the total number of A320 family aircraft ordered by GECAS to 327, with 99 of the total number still to be delivered.

GECAS will be able to select the Sharklet option for aircraft to be delivered from the end of 2012.

Sharklets have been developed to enhance eco-efficiency and payload-range performance of the A320 family that will reduce fuel burn by 3.5% over longer sectors.
