Bombardier Tianjin

Bombardier and Tianjin Airport Economic Area have confirmed plans to establish a joint venture, to provide maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services for Bombardier business aircraft in China.

The partners have signed definitive agreements and started construction of the service facility in Tianjin.

Planned to begin operations in 2017, the 8,897m² maintenance facility will feature hangar, office and back shop areas.

According to Bombardier, the centre will adopt the processes and procedures from its wholly owned service centre network worldwide.

Bombardier Business Aircraft aircraft programmes and customer services vice-president Michel Ouellette said: "We look forward to collaborating with the leaders of Tianjin to provide our customers with access to a full range of OEM maintenance services at their doorstep."

Bombardier operates four authorised service facilities in China, and regional support offices in Shanghai, Hong Kong and Singapore. The company also owns two parts depots in Beijing and Hong Kong.

Tianjin Mayor Huang Xingguo said: "We are confident that this collaboration will benefit Bombardier Business Aircraft customers in China, while growing the large aerospace hub in Tianjin, China."

Bombardier said it has an installed base of more than 120 business aircraft in China.
