The TAWI VacuEasylift was the first vacuum lifter in the world, introduced in the 1970s. We have since developed a family of vacuum lifters, sold in more than 50 countries worldwide. A baggage lifter has been added to the range, as well as a tube lifter which is easily adapted to an existing baggage handling system. Loading and unloading carts with vacuum lifting systems is a way to avoid potential work-related bodily injuries. High-speed vacuum baggage liftersVacuum lifters can be used to eliminate manual handling in the airport baggage handling areas. VacuCobra lifts baggage of different size and shape weighing up to 40kg. Using ergonomic one-handed operation, this lifter moves upwards automatically, meaning one control less for the operator. A top and bottom swivel provides unlimited rotation and an angle adapter ensures full freedom of motion when the lifter is gripping the baggage. High frequency baggage lifting equipmentThe VacuCobra is well suited for airport baggage handling areas. The suction cup will secure the goods safely from the side as well as from the top, and the swivelling action achieves the highest possible precision with very little effort. The quick-release function makes sure no time is wasted when releasing the load. The fingertip control can be adjusted from the right to the left side of the handle in seconds. The lifting speed of the unit is approximately 1m/s. Low maintenance vacuum pumpThe vacuum force of our baggage lifters will assure that the suction cup instantly attaches to and holds anything with which it comes in contact. An oil-free, air-cooled, robust rotary-vane vacuum pump with low maintenance and running costs, it has a motor capacity of 2.4kW (50Hz), an rpm of 1,420 and 71dB(A). The compact cover ensures low noise and heat emission. It can be placed away from the handling area, and connected to the lifter by air tube, which is neatly looped in lightweight aluminium profiles above the operator. Ergonomic lifting equipmentRepetitive lifting of baggage with awkward postures and extended reaches is a typical example of hazardous manual handling. High baggage flow rates at peak times adds to the stressful situation. Investing in a lifting aid must be a mutual agreement between operators and employers. Once the system has passed a live trial period it is bound to become a part of the daily routine. The common goal must be to reduce the risk of injury from hazardous manual handling, so far as is reasonably practicable.
