Korean Air has firmed up its order for two Boeing 777-300 Extended Range (ER) airplanes, worth $596m based on the company’s list prices.
Boeing Commercial Airplanes Greater China and Korea sales and marketing vice president Ihssane Mounir said: "The 777-300ERs advanced technology and innovative features will continue to provide the airline with tremendous economics and reliability."

The new aeroplanes will assist the airliner in expanding its fleet of wide-body aircraft to serve rising passenger traffic in Asia.
Claimed to be the world’s most successful twin-engine, long-haul airplane, the Boeing 777 airplane is 19% lighter than its competitors and offers 22% reduced carbon emissions per seat, as well as a 20% per seat reduction in operating cost.
The 777-300ER, with a maximum range of 7,930nm (14,685km), can seat up to 365 passengers in a three-class configuration.
The 777 airplane’s advanced wing allows quick climbing and cruise at higher altitudes, while enabling it to carry full passenger payloads out of many high elevation and temperature airfields.

Features of the 777ER airplane include fly-by-wire technology, which will transfer electrical signals from the pilot control wheel, column, and pedals to a primary flight computer.
With an existing fleet of 34 of Boeing’s 777 aircraft already, Korean Air’s orders for additional Boeing 777-300ERs is to six to date.
