As a part of the joint venture, both companies will invest in the Butte facility in order to manage higher volume. The facility currently employs 70 people and the workforce is expected to increase in the next four years.

"We are very fortunate to have a strong order book, and this joint venture will provide much needed additional capacity to meet our commitments."

The joint venture is expected to strengthen GE’s global supply chain as its engine production rates continue to grow.

GE Aviation Supply Chain Division vice president and general manager Colleen Athans said the company was excited by the manufacturing expertise at the Butte operation, including critical skills in welding and fabrication.

"We are very fortunate to have a strong order book, and this joint venture will provide much needed additional capacity to meet our commitments," Athans added.
