The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has signed a declaration of cooperation with the German Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Development (BMVBS) to work jointly to promote the use of alternative aviation fuels.
Signed at the ILA Berlin Air Show held from 11-16 September, the declaration will see both parties facilitating the promotion, development and utilisation of sustainable alternative aviation fuels in the US and Germany.

The aim of the declaration is to exchange ideas, information, skills and techniques and work on issues and projects of mutual interest with regard to the development and use of sustainable alternative aviation fuels.
It will determine key areas for the FAA and the BMVBS to join forces, including exchanging research data, publications, funded research and development activities, as well as the best practices in alternative jet fuel conversion R&D and deployment.
US Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany Philip Murphy, who signed the declaration on behalf of the FAA, said the collaboration would enable them to broaden their research capabilities, knowledge and expert opinions to work on developing new sustainable alternative jet fuels.
"This, and other declarations of cooperation with international partners such as Australia and Brazil, will enable us to better share and exchange technologies and that will benefit aviation on a global level," Murphy said.
