
Netherlands-based aerospace aluminium plate producer Constellium has entered into a multi-year agreement with the Boeing Company to support all of its commercial aircraft programmes.
The latest contract will increase Constellium’s scope and range of products it supplies.

Under the new deal, Constellium will supply Boeing with aluminium products for airframes using its current and advanced-generation aluminium alloys.
The contract mainly comprises the continued supply of AIRWARE, the Dutch company’s low-density aluminium-lithium solution, for the Boeing 787 Dreamliner jets.
Developed by Constellium’s research centre in Voreppe, France, AIRWARE is created to help the aerospace industry address all the forecasted challenges, including reducing weight and maintenance expense and lowering environmental footprints with closed recycling loops.
Constellium CEO Pierre Vareille said this agreement further strengthens the solid partnership that the company has built with Boeing over the past 25 years.

Products under the agreement will be supplied from Constellium’s two key aerospace and transportation manufacturing sites in Ravenswood, West Virginia, US, and Issoire, France.
During the times of increased aircraft production rates that are forecasted for the next five years, these plants will provide a combination of capabilities to secure the Boeing Company’s requirements.
