"We already have firm orders, letters of intent and other commitments for more than 50 aircraft," Ridolfi said.

The jets, scheduled to enter service in the first half of 2013, feature a new interior design, a next generation cabin management system, Vision Flight Deck with enhanced avionics suite, improved aircraft performance and low operating costs.

Powered by the new enhanced Honeywell engine, which offers increased thrust, both variants are expected to provide improved takeoff field length performance over its predecessor.

The upgraded engine is expected to deliver a 9% improvement in hot and high conditions, such as 86°F and 5,000ft elevation and about 4% fuel efficiency enhancement, while the new systems and canted winglets will contribute to weight savings gain and enhance aerodynamic efficiency respectively.
