Bombardier has slightly extended the timeline for the first flight in order to allow additional software upgrades for improved system maturity and functionality.
While the first flight was expected to be conducted by the end of June, the company said that based on the latest programme review, the first flight will be conducted by the end of July.

By GlobalDataBombardier Commercial Aircraft president Mike Arcamone said that five years after launching the CSeries airliner, the company was approaching its maiden flight.
"The success of the CSeries aircraft programme so far is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our partners, suppliers and in-house teams," Arcamone said. "We have also benefitted greatly from the involvement of our customers."

Powered by Pratt & Whitney PurePower PW1500G engines, the CSeries aircraft family is designed for the 100 to 149-seat market.
It will offer a 15% operating cost advantage and a 20% reduction in fuel burn.
Bombardier noted that the clean-sheet design of the CSeries ensures that the aircraft will achieve greatly reduced noise and emissions as well as superior operational flexibility and airfield performance and will have a range of 5,463km.
Bombardier CSeries airliner has to date logged 388 orders and commitments, which include 177 firm orders.
