
Bombardier Aerospace has commissioned the hydraulic system on its new CSeries Aircraft 0, the company’s on-the-ground systems test rig, which will allow aircraft to operate actuation systems for flight control surfaces, thrust reversers and landing gear.

Bombardier Commercial Aircraft CSeries vice president and general manager Rob Dewar said: "The commissioning of the hydraulic system on Aircraft 0 moves us along in the schedule, as we drive towards the first flight of our CSeries aircraft."
Bombardier was supported by Parker Aerospace, the supplier of the hydraulic work package, during commissioning of the aircraft’s hydraulic system.
The system, together with the earlier commissioned electrical system, will further allow for improved validation testing of the incorporated systems of CSeries family aircraft, prior to the initial flight.
Bombardier said that it will continuously perform the progressive commissioning of the systems all through the year for assuring the continued aircraft certification on the ground.

Weighing up to 12,000lb, the CSeries aircraft will provide a 15% cash operating cost advantage and a 20% saving in fuel burn, while offering a range of 2,950nm (5,463km).
Bombardier has received 138 orders for its CSeries airliners, from customers including Braathens Aviation, Deutsche Lufthansa, Korean Air, Lease Corporation International Group and Republic Airways, among many others.
The company has also received options for 124 aircraft and purchase rights for 10 aircraft from the listed customers, whilst also receiving letters of intent for 30 CSeries aircraft from Ilyushin Finance and nearly 15 CS300 aircraft from Atlasjet.
